Examples of a UI and UX Design: What Are They?

User interface (UI Design) and user experience (UX Design) are both necessary for the success of a website. Without one, the other would fail. Together, you have a great website that brings in users and keeps them interested in what you have to offer. So, what is UI and UX design and what are some examples of them? Think of them as fraternal twins. They are both required in web design, but each has its own personality and a different purpose. Let us dive in!

What is User Interface?

User interface, in web design, is the main display that people see when they visit your website. UI design is pretty much the look of your site and its responsiveness. A good UI design is one that is mobile-friendly (can be viewed on a mobile device and desktop computer without losing its responsiveness). All the buttons and links should work properly for a UI design to be good. Otherwise, users will leave your site because they will think it is outdated, unreliable, and unprofessional.

How can you make sure that you have a good user interface when making your web design? By doing the following actions:

• Create a responsive web design
• Make sure all links are up-to-date
• Make sure images are clear and attract visitors (image colors should be taken into consideration, since colors affect people’s emotions)
• Your logo design should be placed at the top where it can be seen first thing

Keep in mind that user interface consists of making sure that users like the design and respond to it positively.

What is User Experience?

User experience, in web design, is the content and how it makes the user feel. For example, when the user reads the text on your website’s homepage, is he or she likely to open another page of your site? How about if users read your blogs? Does the content interest your website visitors? UX design is all about how the user responds emotionally toward what you put on your site. This includes but is not limited to:

• Blogs
• Videos
• Calls-to-action
• Landing pages
• Polls
• Colors

If you can make users respond positively to these above things, you would have a good UX design.

Examples of UI and UX Design

When it comes to UI and UX design, both work together to create a great experience. Although UX design is all about the user experience, both designs rely on one another. Here are some examples of the two at work:

UI Design:

Example #1-You develop a great website that can be used on all kinds of devices, both desktop and mobile. Anyone viewing that website on his smartphone or tablet can see the images and text clearly. They can even tap on the links and buttons and get to where they need to go.

Example #2: A person is using an ATM kiosk and all the buttons and text can be found and read easily. All the buttons do what they say, and the process is straightforward.

UX Design:

Example #1: You develop a website with images with specific colors knowing those colors will appeal to the user experience and keep them interested. You add powerful, relevant content for your users to read and learn from. You even create polls that users find interesting and enjoy interacting with and see the results of others.

Example #2: A person is playing a app game on her phone. The colors of the game are easy on the eyes and she enjoys the aspect of the game and the backstory of the characters. She will most likely play the game again.

 

As you can see user interface and user experience are both important in web design. UI and UX design are musts when building your website, since they will either bring and keep users happy or they will turn them away.
